When they were approaching the pier of Calo de San Agust\u00ed on the dinghy, they dropped a plug.<\/p>\n\n<p>Guillermo threw himself into the water to recover it and instead he found an 18th century sabre, which was in perfect condition. He instantly reported it to the authorities, and they notified the Formentera Island Council, who took action immediately.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"781\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sospatrimonio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/calodesoli2-1024x781.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-78\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sospatrimonio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/calodesoli2-1024x781.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.sospatrimonio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/calodesoli2-300x229.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.sospatrimonio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/calodesoli2-768x586.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.sospatrimonio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/calodesoli2-1536x1172.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.sospatrimonio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/calodesoli2-2048x1562.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>An IBEAM team carried out an archaeological survey of the area, locating and extracting one of the most surprising archaeological sites in recent years.
